Adopt a Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat)

Hello, my name is Rezart, a handsome 1 year old male German Shepherd mix.  Let me tell you a little about myself and I’m sure you will fall in love!!

What I have to offer:

 - I love other dogs and will play for hours with them.

 - I like people and want to be with them.

 - I’m fully house trained.

 - I’m very intelligent and would love to continue training.

 - I’m crate trained and will go in on command.

What I’m working on:

- Sometimes I’m intimidated by a leash and someone coming toward me with one in their hand. I’m learning that the leash means good things and with continued work, I’ll become more comfortable with a leash.

- I’m working on understanding that people are good and kind and that I can trust them.

- When you leave the house I will go in a crate on command and that’s better for me   

   since I’m still in a chew stage.

What I’m looking for:

 - A home with respectful, older, dog savvy children; I tend to nip at their heels due my   

    herding instincts.

- A secure yard.

- Ongoing obedience training so I can have a mental challenge, exercise and become the best possible dog.

- I would be fine in a home with or without another dog.  I would make a great companion dog.

-A HOME WITHOUT CATS!

What I need: Someone who understands that attention and affection are sometimes on my terms.  I love attention and being pet, but I tend to shy away from too much attention and someone walking toward me.  I came in from New Mexico very afraid of humans and have made incredible progress but some movements can still be very intimidating to me.  I would really benefit from training so I can gain trust with my new humans and build that bond that I desperately need.  If you think I’m the one for you go to rescuerovers.org and apply to meet Rezart.
